I spend my days as an immigration paralegal. I love side quests. I spend my non-paid-labor-time time painting, marathon training, and tattooing.

Fact Sheet

  • I have worked as a Legal Assistant/ Paralegal at the Law Offices of Nadadur S. Kumar from November 2023 to present. I prepare forms, draft affidavits, do legal research, assemble evidence, and serve as primary client contact point for all kinds of employment-based application. I train new legal assistants and review their work product. I’m also the Mandarin-speaking representative of the office, working in translating, interpreting, and new client intake.

For those interested in the technical details, I do the following application types:

    • I-129 in categories L-1A, L-1B, O-1A, O-1B, P-3

    • I-140 in categories EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, EB-5

    • I-485, I-131, I-765, DS-160, DS-260

I’ve also been volunteering monthly as a volunteer paralegal at the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association’s free legal clinic. I help with client intake and interpreting in Mandarin.

  • It’s not as cringey as you might imagine, but please, never play one of my old videos in front of me. I made educational videos about how to succeed at school. Think study tips, note-taking, and planners.

My channel still has around 1.1 million subscribers. Some are waiting for me to come back—unfortunately, that’s not going to happen.

I did some fancy things. I did brand deals for CollegeBoard, HBO Max, Squarespace (thanks!), and many more lovely brands. I spoke at McDonalds’ API Scholarship Program events and hosted bullet journal workshops for Muji. I got to publish my own book about bullet journaling, Study With Me. I was interviewed by publications like the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal.

I also had a lot of fun. The small things were my favorites:

    • I attended the premiere of my all-time favorite movie, Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).

    • My favorite YouTubers, Linh Truong and Jon Cozart, followed me on Instagram.

    • I got a PR gift of a tsunami of Tide Pods.

  • I speak English and Mandarin by virtue of my birth as an American daughter to Chinese immigrants. I can read, write, and speak Mandarin Chinese. Someday I hope I’ll improve my mastery of my grandparents’ Shandong dialect.

I also speak French. I didn’t just take the classes, I actually remembered and used what I learned, I swear. In summer 2024, I volunteered at the Paris Paralympic Games as a driver. It was incredible to meet athletes and athletic officials while chauffeuring them around Paris. The volunteer team communicated entirely in French, and I also helped to interpret for English and Mandarin speakers.

  • Unfortunately, I peaked in high school. I clocked in my fastest mile time at age 16, ran in 5 minutes and 31 seconds. I ran at California state trials and was scouted by a few universities, but I didn’t commit for athletics.

As an undergraduate at UCLA, I started Jogging Club. It’s a jogging club for newbies who aren’t ready for 3 miles at run club, and it has grown to reach hundreds of people.

I’m a slow hobby jogger now. I ran the Los Angeles Marathon in 2023, and I’m training for the 2025 San Francisco Marathon.
